Erling Haaland has pledged to be ‘back stronger’ after suffering another injury setback as Marco Rose confirmed that Borussia Dortmund’s star man will be sidelined for a ‘few weeks’ with a hip flexor issue.
Haaland, 21, hit a brace after returning to Rose’s starting line-up for last week’s 3-1 win over Mainz, having missed games against Monchengladbach, Augsburg and Sporting Lisbon with a muscular problem.
The Norwegian marksman played the full 90 minutes of Dortmund’s dismal 4-0 defeat by Ajax in midweek, but it has been confirmed that he will be unavailable due to another injury setback.

‘Erling will be out, we’ll be without him for a couple of weeks even. He has a hip flexor injury which simply doesn’t make it possible for him to play,’ Rose said. ‘It’s the same thigh, but another location.’
Dortmund’s next game is at Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday, and the next Champions League game is the return fixture with Ajax at home on Nov. 3.
‘Erling was really down yesterday because he was happy to be back again,’ Rose said. ‘That he’s out again is not good for us, it’s not great for the lad, but Erling will get all the support he needs from the club, from the team.’

The Norwegian hotshot took to Twitter to tell supporters that he will be ‘back stronger’
Haaland took to Twitter to send supporters a message vowing to be ‘back stronger’ following his latest injury concern.
‘Time to focus on my recovery. I’ll be back stronger!’ he posted to his 1.3million followers.
A host of European clubs will be monitoring Haaland’s progress this season ahead of an expected transfer battle for the 21-year-old’s signature next summer.
Haaland is understood to be available for £64m owing to a release clause in his Dortmund contract, with Manchester City, United and Chelsea linked with a move for the marksman.
According to reports, whichever European giants wins the race to the 21-year-old Norway international if he decides to depart Signal Iduna Park in 2022 will have to pay him £30m per year.
Haaland’s financial demands however have not put Europe’s elite of pursuing a deal for the striker, the report adds, with other claims suggesting the transfer fee will be inflated by a notable payment to his representatives – including super agent Mino Raiola – for brokering a deal.
