This is the shocking moment thugs batter each other with shop dummies in a brawl which left kids hiding behind their parents.

Footage shows three men lobbing clothing rails across the store and hitting each other with mannequin arms in a bitter row which caused about £4,100 of damage.

The fight, which erupted in a branch of JD Sports in Fort Retail Park, Cheetham Hill, Manchester, involved Cain Gordon, 20, Levi Murray, 19, and another man and all have now been sentenced.

In the CCTV, the defendants were seen brandishing batons, shop furniture and mannequins as weapons.

Murray swung a baton towards a man in the store directly and then turned his attention to a different man who used a rack of clothes to defend himself.

A bottle of water then appears to be thrown at another man by a co-defendant before a victim picks up a furniture pole and brandishes it at Murray.

The brawl involved Cain Gordon, 20, Levi Murray, 19 and another man at JD Sports in Fort Retail Park, Cheetham Hill, Manchester and the three men lobbed clothing rails and mannequins across the store in the frenzied attack

Then Gordon is seen to throw the furniture rack and picks up and throws a mannequin.

The third defendant pulls the arm of a mannequin to use as a club and swings it at one of the other group who was armed in a similar way.

Murray is then seen brandishing the retractable baton, according to Manchester Evening News.

Gordon and Murray (pictured left and right) threw water at victims and used furniture racks and mannequins as weapons in the assault which left terrified customers taking refuge at the back of the store

Terrified customers were forced to take refuge at the back of the store in the midst of the violent brawl, Manchester Crown Court heard.

The floor manager at JD Sports provided a written statement which said: ‘This was the first Saturday opening since Covid.

‘We were extremely busy and the store had lots of children in with their parents, many of these ran away from the fight, hiding behind their parents.

‘At one point, a father is holding an approximate one year old daughter in his hands, as one of the victims brushes past him, attempting to move away from the attack.

‘As much as I’ve seen fights in the past, this incident has left me shook up.

‘It makes me worry about my staff and customers as its not something they should be seeing.’

The floor manager at JD Sports said in a written statement that the fight had left him ‘shook up’

Sentencing at Manchester Crown Court, Judge Suzanne Goddard QC said: ‘How unpleasant it must have been for these children and their parents to witness the yobbish behaviour you were involved in.

‘There were children there who were clearly very scared at what was happening.

‘Serious fear and distress was caused to these people in the shop.’

Gordon, of Crumpsall, was jailed for 22-and-a-half months after pleading guilty to criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and affray.

Murray, of Salford, was jailed for 20 months for the same offences.

Another man who admitted affray, received a 26 month community order.
