West Brom among Championship sides eyeing up January swoop for Swansea’s in-form wide attacker Jamie Paterson… as Scotland keep tabs on forward amid possible call-up

Swansea attacker Jamie Paterson is attracting the interest of a number of top Championship sides heading into the January window.

Paterson has been a revelation for Swansea since joining on a free transfer from Bristol City in August.

The wide attacker is among the best performers in the Championship for goal involvements, with eight goals and four assists in 20 league games so far this season.

Jamie Paterson’s form for Swansea City has caught the eye of several big Championship clubs

Paterson’s impressive displays for Swansea have alerted several of their Championship rivals ahead of January’s transfer window, with West Brom among the clubs interested.

Paterson only signed a one-year deal at Swansea upon his arrival at the Liberty Stadium and with the player entering the final six months of his contract his suitors could test Swansea’s resolve to keep hold of the 29-year-old.

Steve Clark is aware of Paterson’s form amid a possible Scotland call-up for the forward

Paterson’s stunning form has also brought him onto the radar for an international call-up for Scotland.

The former Nottingham Forest man qualifies for Scotland through his grandparents and Swansea boss and former Scotland international Russell Martin has made Scotland boss Steve Clarke aware of Paterson’s eligibility and availability.

Scotland face Ukraine in the World Cup play-offs next March and could potentially take on Wales in the final of the play-offs for a place at next year’s World Cup finals in Qatar.
