Some of Sydney’s toughest gangsters are fleeing the city as a gang war intensifies and police continue to crack down on violence.

The brazen shooting of Omar Zahed, 39, and his brother Tarek, 41, at an Auburn gym in May has prompted many underworld figures to flee the city.

The brothers were shot in a hail of at least 20 bullets, with Omar dying at the scene while his older brother was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
